New Defect Multiple Locations | Mobile

Here we will show you how to record and manage defects for multiple locations in Commnia via your mobile device.

When there is one common defect in multiple locations, you can assign and manage defects across multiple areas in one entry.

1. Accessing New Defect

Login to your Commnia account and select your desired project.

From the main menu click on the New + icon.

Click on New Defect from the list.

2. Create New Defect

  1. Upload photos or documents from your local device or the register.
  2. Type a Description of the defect.
  3. You can specify the Priority of this defect, giving the people involved an idea of how important the defect is to complete. 
  4. Tap location and/or sublocations to make a selection. A pop up will appear to select one or more for multiple entries.
  5. Enter the Due Date.
  6. Type the Name of the Responsible User or Company, and then select from the list of options to assign the issue to this user/company.

3. Select Multiple Locations

When you tap Location or Sublocation in the main menu the following pop up screen will appear, click on the checkbox to select your locations.

You can do this for location and sublocations.

If the location doesn’t exist, you can add a new location by simply typing in the text field. Once you have entered the new location click Add and Save.

You will be taken back to the main entry screen.

The maximum number of defects that can be recorded in one entry is 100. For example, if you had 5 buildings with 5 levels of defects that is a total of 25 defects. If you add 4 bedrooms of defects on each level that is 100 defects.

Scroll down and click Save or Save & Send to create the defect. The Save & Send option will email the relevant contacts about the defect.

Once you tap Save a pop up will appear asking you for confirmation and adding code as per below example.

Tap Submit & Notify or Submit.

When you tap Submit another pop will appear to select from the following options.

  • Assign to Another Trade allows you to assign the issue you have just created to another contact/trade.
  • Create New Issue will take you to a new Issue template.
  • Back to List will take you to list of previously document site issues as per below example.
