Commnia QR Printer: How to Guide

Commnia's QR Printer enhances document access in construction by providing a seamless solution for printing QR codes onto a multitude of surfaces.
This innovative capability enhances accessibility to essential documents and forms, offering a convenient and efficient means for stakeholders to retrieve information at construction sites.
This technology empowers construction professionals with a versatile tool to streamline document access and management processes.

How to Operate the Printer

Turn on the printer
The system starting screen will display followed by the Commnia Logo
The initial set up of the printer will pop up
You will be presented with the "wireless router successful screen"
Select Confirm to be taken to the Main Menu.



Here you will be presented with the following options

1. Settings



Tone - Adjust sound tones when performing different functions, for example when you press the main trigger or power it down.
Screen - Adjust the brightness of the screen.
Power - Various options found here regarding power saving features
Cartridge - Allows for the alignment of the individual print heads, adjust them left-right, up and down.

Here you can also run a test print to ensure your alignment is correct.

Time - Adjust the Date, Time and Format
Language - Select the language of the printer

Please note: this article is written under the assumption you are operating the printer in English

2. Maintenance



Nozzle Clean - Select this if you need the printer to run through its auto nozzle clean process.
Nozzle Autojet - Set automatic ink levels to ensure the nozzle has enough ink, this is to avoid dry cartridges.
Nozzle Test - Allows you to test the nozzle.
Demo Page - Allows you to conduct a print test giving you product name, serial number, etc.
FW Upgrade - Allows you to upgrade the firmware.

3. Ink Cartridge


Shows you the ink levels of each individual cartridge.

4. Wi-Fi


Adjust various Network related settings.
WLAN - Wifi settings, turn on or off.
Wi-Fi AP info - Shows you the device name, the type of encryption and the password of the current device.
These are the name and password you need to connect from the mobile app to the Commnia QR Printer

How to Link QR Codes to Printer


Turn printer on by pressing the yellow power button located on the left hand side of the handle.

How to Print on the surface


From Home, select QR Locations. 



Tap on the printer icon located next to the location.



Navigate to your phone Settings and select Wi-Fi.
Connect to HMP-AP-4828AA as this is the printers Wi-Fi name.




It will ask you to enter a password, once you have entered the password tap Join.
The password is 12345678



Once you are connected to the printer, navigate back to the Commnia app.


Tap Connect to Printer.



Once it is connected, you can tap on Send job



A prompt will appear to let you know the QR Code has been sent to the printer. 
The instructions will appear on how to use the printer. 



The Printer will display the below screen to confirm the job is ready to print



Hold the printer to the left of where you need it to print.
Once you pull and hold the trigger it will beep signalling to you the process has started
Gently glide it to the right on the surface whilst maintaining the trigger held down.
When it is finalised it will beep again.
Once you have printed the QR Code select confirm on the screen before sending another QR Location.
